# exec: FEED_SRC_DOWN alchemy 429 (#1055,1058,1060,1062,1064), 11 Oct 00:29-00:34 BKK
- The alchemy line is only a symptom: alchemy is the LAST-resort feed source (free tier, 429 cap). It is tried only when drpc and public both fail in a round. It logs once per 60 s.
- Cause: from 00:29 drpc had slow/failed rounds (rpc 5-12 s, failed calls 5-12/min, until 00:35). fm_mc5 feed_flip then moved the first RPC to "public", which is slow too (7-8 s per call measured at 00:36), so feed gaps were 7-12 s (normal ~1 s). Before 00:29 gaps were <=1.7 s, failed calls 0.
- At 00:36 drpc answers in 0.02-0.08 s again; only the flip to public (5 min) keeps the feed slow.
- Not done: no live change (fmmc5 live; restart rule). Suggested fix for Ben/ops: in feed_flip, never flip to "public" (only drpc <-> trade keys), or flip only if the target answers a probe in <1 s; and add a second paid-quality source (dedicated trade key) so alchemy is not the 3rd fallback. Alchemy 429 itself needs no fix.
