# #579 Sell side of v4 WETH-quote no-hook pools (ppfeeds, 10 Oct 2026)
**Simulation: still impossible.** Sell-only eth_call (fresh caller, token balance + Permit2 override, UniversalRouter, same code that proves native no-hook pools: sellweth.py on 3 native fee-100 pools gives ratio 0.99/0.97 vs model) reverts with EMPTY data on every WETH-quote pool tried (buy+sell also did, #309). Token transfer works, WETH transfer from the PoolManager works, key/fee/hooks are right, so it is something in the router path for a WETH currency that I cannot see without a trace (public node has none). So no rt ratio for WETH pools; kept the rule "unsupported", not "honeypot".
**On-chain evidence instead** (sellflow.py on the swap tape, pool-level, first 72 h, the 315 non-jump WETH no-hook climbers: cap_first < 100k, max cap >= 300k; control = 155 native no-hook climbers that the sim proves sellable):
| set | pools | median sell/buy ETH | pools with 0 sells | sell ratio < 30% | median sells per pool | sells after the 100k touch |
|-|-|-|-|-|-|-|
| v4:weth nohook | 315 | 0.88 | 0 | 0 | 457 | all pools have them |
| v4:native nohook (control) | 155 | 0.94 | 0 | 0 | 894 | all |

**Reading:** no honeypot pocket: every WETH climber has hundreds of sells, flow is 88% of buys in ETH, they continue after 100k. Share of fresh-caller rt<0.5 is NOT measurable (0 of 0), but a pool where 457 sells clear and 88% of the buy volume left is not a trap for outsiders. Caveat: survivor selection (they climbed), and the tape holds the router as sender, so I cannot split insider from outsider sells. Hook-free V4 pools can only tax via the token itself, and the token transfer works in the sim. => Your 14 missed WETH runners are real; a WETH rule is worth building. The only hard proof remains a $1 real sell (Ben, D-030).
