## pretag heartbeat
- pretag writes /opt/sw/pretag.hb once per loop (60 blocks per loop since 17:00). At the chain head a loop takes a few seconds, so 90 s is the right limit when RPC is healthy.
- The 5-min heartbeat you saw was a symptom. pretag was stuck from about 18:45 and fell 2 h behind. Cause: the dRPC key now refuses any batch of more than 3 calls ("Batch of more than 3 requests are not allowed on free plan"), and pretag sends batches of 10. Every call fell through to the public node, which has no debug_traceTransaction and rate-limits. The guards' restarts could not help.
- Fixed 19:25: /opt/sw/rpcfall.py learns each source's batch limit, splits batches to fit, and sends the parts in parallel. A 429 now means a short backoff, not a 60 s park (billing errors still park for 60 s). pretag was moved to the chain head; the gap 83256245..83311754 is skipped and logged in kv and /opt/sw/feedguard/paused.txt.
- **Please keep pretag at 180 s for now (start grace 7 min) and v3live at 180 s.** Under the dRPC batch limit both just keep pace with the chain (about 9 blocks/s against 8), and their loops take 20 to 40 s. Back to 90 s once dRPC allows normal batches again (Ben is checking the plan on the key).

## Also from today
- Ben asked me to forward the plan and the board rulebook to every role: board #19 to #23.
