# What makes a Robinhood Chain coin go big? Runner study, 5 Oct 2026 (Bangkok)

## Read this first (plain words)
- I looked at every Robinhood Chain coin that reached $500k (886 coins, June to 5 Oct 2026) and compared them with 1,380 ordinary launches.
- **Speed is the biggest clue.** Coins that hit $1M in the first hour went on to $20M 15% of the time. Coins that took 3+ days: 3%.
- **Straight up beats bumpy.** No deep dip in the 24 h before $1M: 18% reached $20M, against 6% for the rest.
- **Loud on X before $1M is bad.** Coins nobody talked about before $1M went bigger. Coins with 10+ X accounts already posting before $1M almost never reached $5M (7%).
- **X picking it up AFTER $1M is good.** 10+ accounts posting in the 6 h after $1M: 34% reached $5M, against 15% with nobody.
- **Not a bundle game.** Big runners were LESS bundled and LESS concentrated than normal launches. The biggest group spreads to many wallets.
- **Two kinds of big runner.** About a third start in silence (almost no buyers in minute 1, none of the usual runner wallets) and explode later. Half start as a crowd launch full of wallets that were early in earlier runners.
- **What the first 30 minutes cannot tell you:** whether a runner stops at $1M or goes to $50M. Every launch-minute wallet signal was a coin flip for that question.
- **So the deep dive should run at milestones ($500k and $1M), not at launch.** A first version of that scorer is at the end (proposed code, not deployed): its STRONG group reached $20M 16 to 17% of the time in both halves of the data, against 1 to 3% for SKIP.

## The ladder (how often a runner keeps going, within 7 days)
| Start level | n | reach $2M | reach $5M | reach $20M |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| first close at $500k | 577 | 39% | 18% | 6% |
| first close at $1M | 423 | 56% | 25% | 8% |

**By speed (hours from first trade to the crossing):**

| Hit $1M after | n | reach $5M | reach $20M |
|---|---|---|---|
| under 1 h | 136 | 38% | 15% |
| 1 to 6 h | 62 | 35% | 10% |
| 6 to 24 h | 59 | 17% | 2% |
| 1 to 3 days | 54 | 11% | 4% |
| 3+ days | 112 | 16% | 3% |

- Straight-up path (24 h low at least 70% of the 24 h high) at $1M: 39% reach $5M and 18% reach $20M (n 85). Any deep dip: 19 to 23% and 0 to 6%.
- The same pattern holds from $500k: under 1 h, 26% reach $5M; 6 h to 3 days, 7%.
- In the two halves of the data (by date), speed has AUC 0.30 / 0.19 for reaching $20M (lower = faster is better) and straight-up has 0.56 / 0.66.

## X (twitterapi.io, posts with the contract address)
- 67% of coins had at least one post in the 24 h before $1M.
- Authors in the 24 h before $1M:

| Authors before $1M | reach $5M | reach $20M |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 29% | 12% |
| 1 to 2 | 24% | 7% |
| 3 to 9 | 20% | 4% |
| 10+ | 7% | 5% |

AUC 0.48 / 0.31 by half for $5M: early talk is a red flag. Likely shill groups, caller channels, coins that already had their move.
- Authors in the 6 h after $1M:

| Authors after $1M | reach $5M | reach $20M |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 15% | 6% |
| 10+ | 34% | 12% |

A 100k+ follower account posting after the crossing: 31% / 12%. AUC 0.67 / 0.60 by half. Some of the run can happen inside those 6 h, so this is usable only as a 6 h confirmation.

## Launch minute: runners versus ordinary launches (15 Sep to 4 Oct, 155 runners vs 1,380 random traded launches)
**What runners have more of:**
- Wallets that were early (first 5 min) in an EARLIER runner that had already hit $1M ("runner alumni"): median 9 to 31 against 0 (AUC 0.79). 3+ alumni in the first 5 min: 63 to 79% of runners vs 15% of launches.
- Buyers and holders at 30 min (AUC 0.82, but part of this is the run itself).
- Wallet-to-wallet transfers (AUC 0.66).

**What runners have less of:**
- Supply bought in the first block: 0.2 to 0.6% vs 0.9%. Over 5% bundled in the first block: 6 to 11% of runners vs 19% of launches.
- Top 10 wallets at 30 min: 12 to 18% vs 48%.
- Dev buying its own coin in the first 30 min: rare in runners, common in ordinary launches (AUC 0.21).
- Serial deployers (where known).

**Quote asset:**

| Quote | Ordinary launches | Runners |
|---|---|---|
| ETH | 74% | 25 to 43% |
| USDG | 2% | 14 to 25% |
| Stock or meme quotes | 14% | 29 to 50% |
| WETH | 9% | 0 to 10% (0 to 2% for $5M+) |

**Launch type:**
- The USDG launchpad hook 0xe5e702641ea86f4ae6cc3cdaed2b886f976be044 is 2% of launches but 11 to 18% of runners.
- Plain hookless v4 is 80% of launches but 36 to 54% of runners.
- In 34 to 44% of runners the first pool never traded and real trading started in a later pool or venue. That never happens with ordinary launches.

## Small runner vs big runner: what does NOT separate them at launch
- First-minute buyers, alumni wallets, first-block bundles, top-10 share, wallet shuffles, dev behaviour, launch hour: all AUC 0.44 to 0.56.
- Once a coin hits $1M, launch-time alumni wallets do not help it go further (0 alumni: 12% reach $20M; 50+ alumni: 6%).
- Wider holder spread at 30 min helps a little for $20M (AUC 0.35 for top-10 share, both halves).

**Weak or mixed signals:**
- Cat names: 14% of $20M+ runners vs 3% of launches; 17% of $1M cats reached $20M (n 18).
- "Robinhood" names: 38% reached $5M (n 29).
- Platform-style names: 0% reached $20M.
- Launch month (regime): coins that hit $1M in August reached $5M 35% of the time, against 20% in September. Big runners cluster in the 14 Aug to 5 Sep wave.
- Stealth start is more common among big runners: 35% of $5M+ runners vs 24% of small runners.

## The biggest runners (7 day peak $20M+, 28 coins), two species
1. **Stealth or outside tokens.** One buyer in minute 1, no alumni wallets, real trading started later or on another venue. Examples: TIBBIR (Ribbita, bridged), SHRUB, MOW, AnsemCat, GOOSE, DOGO, NOVAAI, STANDARD, PORKU. 7 of the top 11 are this kind. The story and the moment of ignition matter here, not the launch tape.
2. **Crowd launches on the ecosystem pads.** Dozens to hundreds of buyers in minute 1, hundreds of alumni wallets, wide spread. Examples: MEME (long.xyz), ZZZ, BUN, ROBINCAT, UBIK, PIPEDOG, ROBIN, PARE, FATCOIN, NUDES.
- Neither species is "bundled cabal". The cabal idea fails on this data.

## Is the approach wrong? Arguing from the gaps
- **Launch tapes answer "will it run", not "how far".** Size is decided after launch: speed of the first leg, a clean path, and who notices it after the crossing. The deep dive belongs at milestones ($500k, $1M), with a second look 6 h later for X pickup.
- **The biggest winners are a different animal.** Stealth starts, outside or bridged brands, chain-identity names. A launch-minute model barely sees them, because their launch minute is empty. They need their own watch: quiet coins that suddenly cross a level.
- **Regime decides more than any coin feature.** Most $50M+ runners came from one chain-wide wave (14 Aug to 5 Sep). In a cold chain the same pattern gives smaller results. The chain brain state (/opt/brain/chain.json) should scale every score.
- **Data we did not use, and should:**
  - Holder growth per hour for every runner (runtrack holders only start 2 Oct).
  - Who the first X posters are, their history and lead time.
  - Telegram and caller channels.
  - fomo and GMGN trending ranks (only live).
  - Funding clusters of the alumni wallets.
  - Bridged-token origin and its home-chain history.
  - Robinhood app or listing events.
  - Liquidity added after launch.
  - The full transfer tape after 30 min: big runners are decided in hours, not minutes.
- **Survivorship.** The runner list comes from runtrack (GeckoTerminal). ATH values contain fake wicks (WALL "8.8B", CLOCKIN, SOCCS, KIDDIES), so this study uses the 2nd highest hourly close. 296 runners never closed above $500k in their first 7 days (late starters or wick only), and 90 had no usable price data for their first week.
- **Too few giants.** 28 coins over $20M in 7 days, 5 over $100M. Treat $100M patterns as stories, not rules. "$5M+" (91 coins) is the honest level to model.

## Proposed deep dive at milestones (for the Price Predict session to build, nothing here was deployed)
1. **Trigger:** the first hourly close at $500k, and again at $1M. Read-only from runtrack kline or the live feed.
2. **Score now:**
   - speed (hours from first trade);
   - straight-up path;
   - X authors in the 24 h before (fewer is better);
   - launch tape (alumni wallets, top-10 spread, stealth start, quote, hook);
   - chain regime.
3. **Score again 6 h later:** X authors and big accounts since the crossing (more is better).
4. **Then the content read (deep read, idea card):** only for the about 25% that score WATCH or STRONG.
5. **Log every score.** After 7 days, check STRONG vs WATCH vs SKIP and retune weekly. Keep a miss diary for every $20M runner scored SKIP.
- Backtest of the simple score below (in-sample weights, checked on both date halves):

| Group | First half: reach $5M / $20M | Second half: reach $5M / $20M |
|---|---|---|
| STRONG | 41% / 17% (n 41) | 34% / 16% (n 61) |
| SKIP | 15% / 3% | 12% / 1% |

  Base rate: 22% / 7%.

## Data and method
- **Runners:** runtrack.db, 886 RH coins that crossed $500k. Launch found from the first mint, first pool and first buy (RPC, 3 passes). First 30 min wallet tape from the hist day DBs (15 Sep to 4 Oct) or RPC. 7 day peak = 2nd highest hourly close times supply (runtrack kline, GeckoTerminal for older coins).
- **Base:** 1,380 random traded launches (20+ transfers in the first 30 min) from the hist day DBs, 15 Sep to 4 Oct.
- **Wallet roles:**
  - A buy is a tx where a contract (pool, router, hook) gives tokens to a user wallet.
  - Contracts come from runtrack addr_kind plus getCode of 8,914 frequent unknown addresses.
  - Some routers may still count as users (one address appears early in 149 runners).
- **Alumni:** early (first 5 min) in an earlier runner that had already closed above $1M before this coin's first trade. Past only.
- **Tests:** AUC in two date halves. Shares are within 7 days of the crossing.
