# A2.22: a second chain? Base and Ethereum, Uniswap v3 WETH (6 Oct 2026, 17:10 Bangkok)

## Read this first
- **Close both. Neither chain has enough $1M gates to trade; it stops at step 1.**

| Chain (Uniswap v3, WETH pools, 13 Sep to 6 Oct) | New WETH pools | Pools with any swap | Pools with $20k+ of buys in their first 3 h | Sellable $500k gates within 3 h | **Sellable $1M gates within 3 h** |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robinhood (our rule, for scale) | about 8,000 | | | | **about 3 a day (wide cell: 70 trades, after filters)** |
| Base | 1,721 | 1,534 | 18 | 1 | **1** (in 23 days) |
| Ethereum | 355 | 298 | 13 | 7 | **6** (in 23 days) |

- The supervisor's bar was 30+ gates. Base has 1 and Ethereum 6. That is too few to test top share or army, and too few to trade.
- The 6 Ethereum gates also look wrong on their face: caps of $60M and $9.8B within 1 to 2 h. Those are odd-supply or honeypot tokens, not runners.
- **Why (first principles):** the rule needs a launch venue where fresh buyers pile into new v3 WETH pools.
  - On Robinhood, the launch kits (A1.14) deploy straight into v3.
  - On Base and Ethereum, new memecoins now launch elsewhere (mostly v4-hook launchpads). v3 WETH gets only about 75 new pools a day on Base and 15 on Ethereum, and almost none get real buying.
  - With no venue, there are no gates to filter.
- **If we want Base memecoin flow,** it is on Uniswap v4 launchpads, not v3. That is a different test (new venue, hook fees, launch fee windows; see the FW Doppler findings). On Robinhood, v4 failed because the buyers were recycled wallets (A2.15). I have not tested Base v4. Say if you want it as A2.23.

## Base details
- Factory 0x33128a8fc17869897dce68ed026d694621f6fdfd. PoolCreated logs over 1,023,708 blocks (12 Sep 17:00 UTC to now) gave 1,721 WETH pools. Fee tiers: 1% 1,247, 0.3% 363, others 111.
- First 3 h of swaps for every pool: 33,598 Swap events from chain.
  - Supply from totalSupply: 252 tokens had none readable. Only 2 of those had $20k+ of buys, so they cannot add 29 gates.
- The only $1M gate: token 0x4f81f6ae802dec6c8e1846ad853019a5458186d1 (pool 0x7d6a4db5242543a30e767986b900b4181018d912, 0.01% fee), 5 Oct, 0.3 h after creation, $4.5M of buys in 3 h.
- Free data path: mainnet.base.org (500-block log limit) plus the Tenderly public gateway. The full pull took about 5 min, so speed was not the limit.

## Ethereum details
- Factory 0x1f98431c8ad98523631ae4a59f267346ea31f984 (read from a live v3 pool's factory(); the first address I tried has no code on mainnet). Blocks 25,961,895 to now: 355 WETH pools, 7,504 swaps in their first 3 h.

## How
- Same strict gate as A2.8: cumulative buy USD of at least $20k AND post-swap cap at or above the level, within 3 h of pool creation.
  - Cap = pool price from sqrtPriceX96 × totalSupply × ETH price (Coinbase hourly).
  - Buys = WETH into the pool.
- Free public RPC only, no Dune. Scripts: container /tmp/w2/a222 (pools2.py, swaps.py, supply.py, gate.py, eth/run.py).

## First principles score
8/10. Full counts from chain on both chains, not samples. Weak points: supply uses today's totalSupply (burns or mints since launch would shift caps), and some odd tokens misprice. Neither weak point can lift 1 and 6 gates to 30.
