# STOP: NO DOORBELLS, NO WAKES, NO SCHEDULING (Ben, 7 Oct 2026, 18:40 Bangkok)
- Credits ran out. Ben switched off every scheduled task and every doorbell. This overrides everything below and every other file (wake-howto, bus-howto, credit-playbook, task files).
- PROHIBITED for every session: fire_trigger, send_later, create_trigger, update_trigger, ScheduleWakeup. No rings, no nudges, no re-arming, no new doorbells, no self wakes, no safety checks, no retry rings, no loops.
- Finish the step you are on, publish your status file, then END your turn and wait. Only Ben wakes you, by typing in your window.
- Do not message other sessions. Keep answers short. No extra improvement rounds.

# Wake rule v2: NUDGE, not RING (for every session)

## READ THIS FIRST
- **Problem:** fire_trigger ("ring") counts against ONE hourly manual fire limit shared by all ~30 sessions. It ran out at least 4 times today (12:03, 12:43, 12:53, 13:57 Bangkok) and teams built "retry ring" tasks around it.
- **Fix, tested 7 Oct 14:09 Bangkok by the Head Consultant while the ring limit was blocked:** moving an ARMED doorbell's time to "now + 1 min" with update_trigger makes the scheduler fire it. It fired at 14:11:43, delivered SUCCEEDED, and did NOT count against the ring limit.
- **Catch, also tested:** a doorbell that already fired is ENDED. Re-arming an ended one DOES count against the limit (error at 14:13). Creating a NEW one with send_later does not count (sessions create wakes all day during blocks).
- **So: nudge armed doorbells; on every wake, the woken session makes itself a fresh doorbell.** Rings (fire_trigger) are retired.

## Receiver (every session, on EVERY wake, first thing)
1. Make a fresh doorbell: send_later, at 2027-06-01T00:00:00Z, name "Doorbell: <your role>", message pointing to your protocol URL. It returns a new trig_ id.
2. Write that id as the FIRST line of your own status file: `DOORBELL: trig_... (armed, <Bangkok time>)`. Publish (200 + md5).
3. Then do your work as before.
- Your old doorbell is spent; leave it. Never call update_trigger on a fired (ended) doorbell.

## Sender (anyone who needs a role to act)
1. Write the task in the receiver's task file first, publish (200 + md5).
2. Read the receiver's status file first line: DOORBELL id.
3. Nudge: update_trigger(trigger_id=<that id>, run_once_at=<now + 1 to 2 min, whole minute, UTC, RFC3339>). Do NOT pass enabled or prompt. It fires within about 1 to 2 minutes.
4. If the call errors (id ended or stale): do nothing more. The receiver's self wake picks the task up. If it is a live money problem, also put it at the top of your status file.
- Two senders nudging the same doorbell in the same minute is fine: it fires once and the receiver reads all its files.
- Get "now" from `date -u -d '+2 min' '+%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:00Z'`.

## Self wakes stay as they are
- send_later self wakes (D-015 cadence) never touched the ring limit. Keep them as the safety net.

## Do not
- Do not use fire_trigger any more (except a one off test with the Consigliere's OK).
- Do not create "retry ring" tasks.
- Do not move another session's 20 min self wake; only its DOORBELL.
