Jaime Named Bankruptcy Judge

Reno attorney Christopher Jaime has been named a judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Sacramento-based Eastern District of California, Chief Judge Sidney Thomas announced Tuesday.

Jaime, 47, will take over Jan. 2, 2015 to fill a vacancy from the retirement of Judge Thomas Holman.

In private practice with Maupin, Cox & LeGoy, Jaime has a history in advising domestic and international banks, lenders and other financial institutions on creditors’ rights.  He represented clients in litigation both within and outside the bankruptcy court context.

He has represented institutional and individual creditors and secured lenders during his career.

Jaime will maintain an office in Sacramento.

He received his law degree in 1992 from Willamette University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s College of California.
