U.S. district Judge Derrick Watson ruled Wednesday that the travel ban violated the establishment clause of the U.S.Constitution by disfavoring Muslims.
The Trump Administration may appeal the order to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which has previously upheld a Seattle judge’s ruling blocking the ban.
If an effort to get the ban reinstated fails at the 9th circuit it would go to the U.S. supreme Court.
The travel ban not only barred visa seekers from six Muslim dominated countries for at least 120 days, it also barred admitting refugees to the U.S.
