A laid-off Tesla has sued the company alleging it violated California’s required 60-day warning for workers if there is going to be a mass layoff.
The lawsuit alleges the company let roughly 500 people go in mid-October with no warning, despite the state’s WARN Act requirement of a 60-day notice.
Abraham Duarte filed the case in Alameda County Superior Court Wednesday as a class action on behalf of all the dismissed workers for Tesla.
The lawsuit seeks damages for alleged failure to adhere to the state labor law.
